[18:39:38] <Zegon> [August 20th, 1221.  It's been a while since last session, but our intrepid adventurers don't know that!  Time is still ticking as they need to keep their caravan going faster than 50 miles an hour or the bus they're on will expl- oh, wait, wrong script.]

[18:40:26] <Zegon> (Really?  I didn't think we were advancing the day.)
[18:40:38] <Clarissa> ( We slept through the night, so Alci could mem a divination )
[18:40:57] <Zegon> (Ah, right.  So the other one STARTED on the 20th.  Gotcha.)
[18:43:53] <Zegon> [Our adventurers are out to find Spring Rabbit, who they've been pointed to as the only lead they've found to their next clue from a little commune help thanks to Alcinoe, Paladin/Cleric of Pelor.  The weather is still fair, if a mite cool, and the trees block most of the sunlight.  The group has grown accustomed to the smells of the forest and constant crunching of leaves as they walk to Spring Rabbit's abode...]
[18:44:10] <Zegon> [assuming that's where they think they will find the little girl.  Session Start!]
[18:44:56] * Lucy steps along cheerfully. "It's a nice day. If she's not there, I bet she's playing outside."
[18:45:30] * Hank yawns to himself.
[18:46:13] * Leo glomely looks around
[18:47:12] * Kardos follows along quietly.
[18:47:32] * Clarissa whistles happily.
[18:50:34] * Clarissa picks up the pace, dammit.
[18:50:49] <Hank> So, I had a rough night. Refresh my memory what we're doing?
[18:51:51] <Clarissa> We're trying to find a ghost.
[18:52:35] <Zegon> [It isn't long until you reach the house where Spring Rabbit resides.  She can't be seen playing out in the front yard, but her laughs can be heard through the trees so she must be nearby.  Her mother is seen outside cleaning some laundry as you approach.]
[18:52:55] * Lucy waves hello to her mother.
[18:53:01] <Hank> Right, forgot.
[18:53:36] * Kardos bows to Mother of Spring Rabbit as the group approaches, but decides to let Little Miss Optimum do the actual talking.
[18:54:59] <Zegon> * The mother of the hare of the approaching summer smiles and waves to you, apparently glad you didn't get gobbled up by a dragon.
[18:55:22] * Lucy looks around for the kid.
[18:55:25] <Clarissa> Hiya, ma'am!
[18:55:35] <Clarissa> Is Spring Rabbit around?
[18:57:37] <Zegon> (Are you speaking in Elven?)

[18:58:24] <Clarissa> ( er, yes. )
[18:59:57] <Zegon> <SR Mother> Ah, yes she is.  She's out back.  She's been ranting and raving about a big strong orc of all things that saved her in the woods.>  *she finally gets a look at Khrosk and seems taken aback a bit.* <And I think I can see why...>
[19:00:46] <Clarissa> Khrosk is is a good orc.  Well, mostly, he's hungry.
[19:01:07] * Leo nods his head still being silent.
[19:01:36] <Lucy> <He's a surprisingly fun conversationalist.>
[19:03:23] <Clarissa> BUT, we need to talk to Spring Rabbit for a while.
[19:03:45] * Hank pokes around at a rock.
[19:04:11] <Zegon> * Khrosk's belly rumbles as if on cue.
[19:05:16] <Zegon> <SR Mother> <Yes, well, she's in back.  Good luck on your quest.>
[19:06:05] <Clarissa> <Thanks, ma'am.>
[19:06:10] * Clarissa runs along around back.
[19:06:16] * Kardos nods and heads out back.
[19:06:27] * Lucy follows. <Thanks!>
[19:06:49] * Hank follows.
[19:13:18] <Zegon> [As you walk behind the house, the giggling gets a little louder but still can't be used to pinpoint where the little girl is.  Kardos and Hank, however, eventually find the girl sitting on one of the thick high branches in the trees, laughing as she watches a pair of squirrels in front of her perform various antics.]
[19:14:00] * Hank looks up and waves.
[19:14:37] <Hank> Hey there.
[19:14:46] <Zegon> * Spring Rabbit notices you a few moments later and waves down.
[19:15:24] * Lucy sees Hank look up, then looks up. <Hi!>
[19:15:28] <Clarissa> <Hey, we need to talk to you!>
[19:15:44] <Kardos> <Pleasant morning, Spring Rabit.>
[19:17:16] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Hello!  Do you still have that horsey?>  *she smiles widely*
[19:17:41] <Clarissa> <Not until I need him again.>
[19:18:58] <Zegon> * Spring Rabbit looks disappointed.
[19:21:51] <Zegon> * Spring rabbit goes back to watching the squirrels and laughing.
[19:22:30] <Clarissa> <Y'know, if you come down here, I could bring him back for you.>
[19:22:47] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Oh, really?  You'd do that?>
[19:23:42] <Clarissa> <Sure.  I do it all the time, anyway.>
[19:24:13] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Okay, I'm coming down!>
[19:25:24] <Zegon> * Spring Rabbit stands up and, balancing on the tree branch, starts to slowly descend branches until she's only 4 or so feet off the ground and jumps the rest of the way, landing with a light thud and crunch from the leaves.
[19:26:40] <Clarissa> <So, what do you know about ghosts?>
[19:28:11] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <They're spooky and make noises and like to scare people and throw fruit around the house.  They do!  I saw one do it but mom wouldn't believe me!>
[19:29:22] <Lucy> <What about things that are like ghosts?>
[19:29:28] <Clarissa> <You saw one?  Where?>
[19:33:23] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Um...  Throwing fruit around inside of the house?  I don't know where it is now, they like to vanish in poofs of midair!>
[19:38:03] * Clarissa laughs. <Sure, but that's not really the sort of thing we need.>
[19:40:57] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <But ghosts are all whoooooospoky and invisible and stuff.  That's what you want, right?>
[19:41:05] <Clarissa> <See, a friend asked Heironeous where we could find a ghost, and he told us that one of your friends knows a ghost, or someone like a ghost.  Think you could introduce us?>
[19:43:52] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Who's Heironeous?  I never met any creepy person named Heironeous.>
[19:44:14] * Clarissa whispers <He's a god.>
[19:44:26] * Lucy pretends to act surprised! :O
[19:44:28] * Leo just smiles nodding along.

[19:47:44] <Clarissa> <Er... something like that.>

[19:48:46] <Clarissa> <He doesn't quite know everything, but he comes pretty close.>

[19:54:28] <Clarissa> <Actually, what he said was 'a friend of the forest hare speaks to the ghost you seek'>
[19:58:11] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Well, maybe a friend of mine knows one?  I don't know who...  There is Slick Possum who never seemed to be all here.  Always looking somewhere else!>
[19:58:50] <Clarissa> <That's a good start.  Wanna take a ride while we go find her?>
[19:59:04] <Lucy> <Where is Slick POssum, usually?>
[20:03:21] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Okay!  Uh...  She usually plays with the dogs that Hiding Fox has.  A lot of times she'll talk to them like they're people if you think that's weird, though.>
[20:03:52] <Clarissa> <I've seen weirder.>
[20:04:01] <Lucy> <People back home do that all the time.>
[20:04:04] * Clarissa pulls a small knife and slits her thumb.
[20:05:12] * Clarissa traces out a glowing red pentagram in the air, and whispers "In my own name, *mumblemumble*, I summon you, Starlight.>
[20:05:13] * Lucy turns to the others. "She says she has a friend that doesn't seem all there. Think that's close enough?>

[20:05:30] <Leo> It might be.
[20:06:39] <Lucy> Says that she talks to dogs, too. Her friend, that is.
[20:08:13] * Leo shrugs a bit.

[20:11:39] <Zegon> * Spring Rabbit looks estatic as she jumps by the horsey, eventually getting on it and getting in happy-girl-land.

[20:16:14] <Zegon> * Spring Rabbit points in the direction in the woods.
[20:16:30] * Lucy starts walking. "Whoo! One step closer."
[20:20:21] <Zegon> [As you follow her direction, the woods get a little deeper until you come upon a small house with a pen full of dogs in all sizes.  Some are fairly small puppies, to larger dogs up to those the size of a riding dog.  The pen is necessarily large, as the amount requires.]
[20:20:49] * Lucy makes a mental note to cuddle the puppies when she has some free time
[20:21:20] <Zegon> [You can see over the fence a girl, maybe a few years older than Spring Rabbit, hugging one of the dogs and petting it.]

[20:29:20] <Zegon> * The girl doesn't seem to notice you.

[20:31:44] <Lucy> <What gets her attention?>
[20:35:41] <Zegon> <Spring Rabbit> <Uh, usually loud noises.  A tap on the shoulder, something like that.  Or a face full of cold water!>
[20:35:57] <Clarissa> <I could arrange that.>
[20:37:09] * Lucy approaches Slick Possum and gently taps her on the shoulder.
[20:40:53] <Zegon> [Slick Possum doesn't seem to notice, but the dogs sure do!  And generally get out of your way.]
[20:44:56] <Kardos> Clarissa, you can summon some manner of canine, yes?
[20:45:20] <Lucy> I'm outta ideas. Unless you want me to bark or osmething
[20:45:28] <Zegon> [Slick Possum suddenly snaps out of it and looks around, noticing Spring Rabbit too.  Spring Rabbit waves.]
[20:45:39] <Clarissa> If I thought it would do any good, yes.  But I think Lucy has a handle on it.
[20:45:49] * Lucy smiles.
[20:45:52] * Clarissa stands back and let's Lucy work, but gives Slick Possum a quick wave.

[20:47:59] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> <Oh hello.>  *she turns to the rest of you and doesn't smile, but simply looks content.* Hello to you too.
[20:49:12] * Kardos bows.
[20:49:21] <Lucy> <I'm Lucy.
[20:50:53] <Lucy> Oh, neat. You can speak Common. Where did you learn it?
[20:53:12] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> Some here learn it, some do not.  It is useful to have when outsiders come.
[20:54:30] * Lucy nods. "I see you really love the dogs here."
[20:56:13] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> Yes, they are very good listeners.
[20:56:45] <Lucy> What do they listen about?
[20:58:50] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> Anything.  People, the trees, poetry, nature, stories...
[21:00:05] <Lucy> Ah...
[21:00:44] <Lucy> It must be nice to have someone willing to listen to your dreams and wishes like that.
[21:07:02] <Lucy> You seem pretty happy.
[21:07:23] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> I do not see why I should not be.
[21:07:49] <Lucy> Is there anything you really really want?
[21:10:07] <Zegon> * Slick Possum sighs contentedly.  "None that I would ask of you."
[21:10:59] <Lucy> That you would ask of us?
[21:12:54] <Zegon> * Slick Possum nods.
[21:14:03] <Lucy> Well, we're not necessarily asking for a goal or anything. Just kinda curious about what you could want when you're living well like this.
[21:19:51] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> Huh?  I fail to see why you would ask that.
[21:22:18] * Lucy looks to the toehrs for some help.
[21:24:06] <Kardos> Friend Possum, do you only speak with dogs?
[21:24:29] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> Are you a dog?
[21:25:36] <Clarissa> He could be.
[21:25:51] * Clarissa giggles.
[21:25:54] <Lucy> He has some dog-like qualities.
[21:26:40] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> But neither of you are dogs, and I speak to you as well.
[21:27:38] * Clarissa shrugs.
[21:28:05] <Clarissa> Look, we're on a quest.  We're looking for a ghost, or something like one.
[21:28:19] * Kardos shakes his head. "My pardon. I did not mean literally."
[21:29:00] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> Then why speak to me?  I know of no ethereal entities.
[21:29:25] * Clarissa shrugs.
[21:29:39] <Clarissa> You're Spring Rabbit's friend.
[21:33:01] <Kardos> She seems to believe that you have awareness of things that are not obvious to others. 
[21:34:10] <Zegon> <Slick Possum> Perhaps I do, and I am Spring Rabbit's friend.
