Start of #Dragonstar buffer: Thu Apr 17 21:24:54 2008 [19:47:31] [Last time on Dragonstar, our heroes had some of the things they ordered delivered to their ship. However, they discovered that some essential parts for the teleport drives were missing, and the merchant responsible for delivering them had not arrived as expected.] [19:47:42] [And then Hex went into the ship and started pushing buttons.] [19:47:44] [Session Start] [19:48:40] * Mechazawa is now known as Rock [19:49:09] * Hex seems to have the navigational systems open, staring up at the stars on the 3D master map. [19:49:35] * Beep! Boop! [19:49:44] * Mandoric is now known as Zhou-Ning [19:49:55] * Hex sees a good chunk of the known galaxy hovering before him. [19:50:30] "So, where'm I gonna be bunkered down, matey?" [19:51:11] * Most of the major star systems are marked, and some have notes scribbled like "Avoid" or "Tasty" or "Pangolin" [19:51:39] * Hex tilts his blue-haired head. [19:54:16] In a room! [19:54:31] With a bed! And maybe a television or a wetbar, but it's a gamble, there. [19:55:33] Wetbar only on days when the ship's cooling system springs a leak. [19:55:39] Certainly not my room. [19:56:09] "Aye, so I gets a room, does I? That be a right onnered acceptance, methink." [19:56:28] Yeah, it sure is that. [19:56:46] "Where it be?" [19:58:00] * Hex pokes through the ship's files until he finds a floorplan. [19:58:10] * Xivilai brings up a ship's map. "Right about here. I think we've got a room with full head right here near the engine." [19:58:29] "Aye, that'll do me fine." [19:59:34] * Xivilai nods. "I'm glad! One of the first engineers on this ship said you could tell how the engine's doing by the nightmares you have when sleeping near it! He was such a funny man." [19:59:41] * Xivilai laughs a bit, as if remembering fond times. [20:00:55] "It'll be givin' me plenty t' beat with a rench if I gets all mad in the dark o' night." [20:01:32] * Xivilai grins and pumps her fist. "That's the spirit! I'm sure you two'll be friends in no time at all!" [20:02:09] * Hex finds a neat floorplan. It's got the bedrooms, bar, engine room, meetin room, party room, and PARTY ROOM, and kitchen, and other fun places [20:05:34] * Hex smiles, and leaves it on that as he turns back to watch the others. [20:06:35] * Rock sits in the mainroom. "So, when we be going rob, err, negotiate with this ere bandit?" [20:06:38] Lessee. Hex! [20:06:45] Where do you want to stay? [20:06:55] With you. [20:07:01] As soon as we have clearance to leave! [20:07:29] This ship is warm and friendly. [20:07:45] With me? Awww, that's cute. But I sleep by myself. Well, sometimes. [20:07:54] * Hex blinks. [20:08:02] Oh, 'you' in the plural. That works, but it was actually my base assumption. [20:08:04] * Rock smirks. [20:08:13] I meant, where on the ship would you like your room to be? [20:10:22] ...or do you care? [20:10:51] * Hex blinks again, apparently not having considered that. He looks back at the floorplan, and, after a few minutes of studying it, plays with the controls to put icons of people's faces on their rooms as they're listed in the roster. His own, with the name "Hex" in neat and precise handwriting, he puts on a room that has big windows. [20:11:02] I would like that one, please. [20:11:38] * Xivilai gives a big thumbs-up with a swirly on it. "Okay! Consider it yours! Now, let's go bust some bandit heads!" [20:11:49] * Hex smiles. [20:13:01] ...do we have clearance to leave yet? [20:13:13] Maybe you should check with control? [20:13:34] * Xivilai grimaces. "Are you crazy? I have serious issues with control." [20:14:00] * Hex looks through the ship's systems some more, finding communications. [20:14:32] * Zhou-Ning snickers at Xiv. [20:17:13] * Hex finds the comms quite easily [20:17:33] What is control? [20:21:21] * Xivilai stands tall, fist in the air. "Control is, like, the MAN, man! He's tryin' ta make us do stuff, an' we don't wanna!" [20:21:45] Also, he wants to keep our kids from having fudge! [20:22:11] ...unless you mean launch control. In which case it's just someone we have to talk to so everyone gets clear when we leave. [20:23:26] * Hex points to a message. "Does this say we can leave?" [20:23:48] * Xivilai looks. [20:35:38] * An unread flashing message indicates that Xivilai's order of candy is ready. However, it notes that one of the products is not currently in stock. [20:36:11] Bastards! Oh well, maybe it'll be available when we get back. [20:36:25] * TrueChocolate, the only candy bar (in a certain area) made with TrueSugar, grown and harvested on Arborea. [20:36:35] * Xivilai looks at Jadel. "Can you call control for me and say nice things to them?" [20:36:36] * The shipment did not arrive. [20:37:25] You remember how it went last time I talked to control, right? [20:37:48] ( Flashback: That's it! When the revolution comes, you're gonna be first up against the wall, mister! ) [20:38:32] ( Flashback: * An elf seems to be playing an anceint game about zombies in a mall on the main viewscreen behind Xivali. ) [20:38:41] ( ZOMBIE RIDER ) [20:39:57] ( * Scene switches to black and white, showing Xivilai in Russian longcoat and cylinder-hat, holding a gun pointed at a man in a flight control uniform. The man cowers against a wall as snow begins to fall. ) [20:41:06] ( I told you. n-n-no! When the revolution came, you would be first. Well, now the revolution is here. Please! No! I have children! Oh! Well, then here, give 'em this fudge. ) [20:41:13] ( And then they all lived happily ever after! ) [20:41:36] ( hahahah ) [20:41:53] * Hex pushes a button, and the flashback on the viewscreen bwips off. [20:49:31] How do we call control? [20:49:45] Yeah, we all remember. Heck, I'm sure the ship still hasn'trecovered completely. [20:51:19] ( The ship sheds a single tear. ) [21:00:26] * Zhou-Ning walks up to the terminal, and presses buttons, while appearing to be thinking for once. [21:00:37] Traffic control? [21:01:08] * It crackles on. "Hello." [21:02:34] This is the Champagne Supernova. Requesting permission to go almost as far away as you'd like to have us. [21:04:21] * "Permission granted. Thank you for docking with Aramist station. We appreciate your business, and hope your stay has been a pleasant one. If you plan to stay in the area, consider signing up for the newsletter or visit our website." [21:05:38] Woohoo! [21:06:00] * Xivilai hops in the pilot seat and thows the thrust lever all the way forward. [21:07:13] * The ship haphazardly disengages with the station. Damage is thankfully minimal, after the numerous emergency safety devices that were installed last time. Which are now used as REGULAR safety devices. [21:09:49] * Xivilai does all this without damaging the ship (the station isn't so lucky). After all, she's only criminally reckless; her amazing skill is still there. [21:10:31] * Hex watches out a window. "That was dangerous." [21:11:43] Nah, not really. [21:12:00] Like I said, they had everyone clear, and the station's made out of nice, ductile metal! [21:12:02] * She's right. It's mostly superficial damage. Mostly. [21:12:04] I've since become desensitized from her piloting. [21:12:52] This is how it is always done? [21:13:18] Until we find a more sane pilot... [21:13:24] Oh. [21:13:25] * Jadel smiles at Xivilai. [21:14:02] * Hex plots a course to the moon from which the missing shipment was to be coming. "Should we go this way?" [21:15:04] * Xivilai grins back at Jadel. [21:15:16] Oh, maybe. I guess. [21:15:24] How're the sensors doing? [21:19:00] * Xivilai checks herself while the rest of the cast cowers in abject fear of her awesomeness. "Riiight, so we shouldn't have to swerve too much to get a nice wide sensor reading in case there was much deviation in the flight path." [21:20:41] * Jadel taps a few things on the control pannel to do a scanner sweep. [21:21:27] * A few pings later, he doesn't see anything unusual. Looks like there's a nice and clear path [21:23:43] * Xivilai makes the ship go fast. Towards adventure! [21:24:22] * The ship's engines charge, and ZOOM OFF! AT SUBLIGHT SPEEDS! TOWARDS ADVENTURE! [21:24:26] [Session End] End of #Dragonstar buffer Thu Apr 17 21:24:54 2008
