Start of #Dragonstar buffer: Thu May 01 21:40:50 2008 [19:43:30] [The ship departs from the station quickly, doing mostly superficial damage. They soar towards the third planet of this system, where their teleport drive parts and TrueSugar Chocolate Bars await.] [19:45:17] [It takes a while, but the ship finally clears atmosphere and finds a suitable spaceport, and it begins its descent] [19:45:20] [Session Start] [19:47:01] * Hex sits on a convenient surface on the bridge, watching landing procedures with great interest. [19:50:24] * Xivilai is at the helm, playing a video game while piloting the ship in. [19:51:50] * Now, which is the game control and which is the piloting control again? [19:52:55] Xiv. Ship controls. Now. [19:55:07] * Xivilai steers the ship with her feets. "I'm on it, Jadel. Seriously, planetfall in ninety seconds, everyone buckled in?" [19:56:02] * Hex nods. [19:57:31] * Zhou-ning srtaps himself down. [19:57:35] I'm sure anyone who needs to be will be. [19:57:45] * Jadel takes a seat. [19:58:53] * Xivilai cackles suddenly. "YES! DING, MUTHAFUCKAS!" Sharp turn. "Woooo, level 60!" [20:03:36] * Xivilai sighs and taps the comms button. "Contol, our angle of descent is just fine. Pipe down already." The ship proceeds to shake violently for a while before everything smooths out as a loud roar starts up on either side of the craft. The craft roars to an amazingly sudden halt, and is landed. [20:05:03] * Jadel looks outside. "Xiv, what did I tell you about what doing that trick does to the ship's surface integrity?" [20:05:45] * Xivilai stands up and dances while the noise of the hull cooling can be heard all around. "o/` I hit level siiixty, now I get some eeepics, I hit... no, what about the surface integrity?" [20:06:50] The fragile shell between air and void is shaken and tensed by the ravages of hot friction. [20:07:17] Ooo, nice. Hey, that reminds me, I'm gonna go sit on one of the heatsinks. [20:07:54] * Xivilai scampers off; thankfully, even blessedly, this leaves the sane ones to deal with customs. [20:11:49] * Jadel (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) Quit (*.irc.sandwich.net *.irc.sandwich.net#) [20:12:13] * Jadel (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) has joined #Dragonstar [20:12:14] * Jadel (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) Quit (*.irc.sandwich.net *.irc.sandwich.net#) [20:13:22] * Jadel (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) has joined #Dragonstar [20:17:19] * Jadel continues on to customs. [20:18:36] * Jadel finds a booth with a sleepy-looking human male. "Hi, and welcome to the ground. Do you have anything to declare?" [20:20:34] * Hex follows Jadel, looking about curiously. [20:23:57] Depends on if you have any restrictions on crazy co-workers, sugar products, or ghosts. [20:24:23] I think they're allowed as long as they don't mix, right? [20:24:51] Too late. [20:25:28] * He glances over some documents. "S'fine." [20:27:43] * "Looks like you're clear to go." [20:28:30] "Where will we find the courier?" [20:31:31] Good question. Where WILL we find him? [20:38:18] * "Find who?" [20:38:42] * Jadel explains the situation and who we're searching for. [20:40:44] * "I think I know which guy you mean. He parked around here maybe a week ago, took a ground vehicle out to deliver some things... hasn't come back yet." [20:41:56] Where is he delivering? [20:46:03] * "I think he headed off to an outpost a fair distance from here to deliver guns and other things. Mostly undeveloped area, not too great for landing." [20:47:04] * Jadel raises an eyebrow. "Weaponry hmm?" [20:48:00] Is it dangerous? [20:48:14] Guns tend to be.\ [20:49:44] LIES. Wait, what were you talking about? [20:50:18] Oh nothing, just the state of the empire. [20:50:55] Vast. [20:51:44] Really? Cool. [20:51:57] So how about we look for the lost courier instead? [20:52:15] The thought had crossed my mind. [20:52:30] Good! You've got a good mind for it to cross. [20:53:17] Can we at least discuss this on the trip? It's not like we won't have time if we're going by land. [20:53:45] Oh, bummer. [20:54:03] Travel allows a lot of time. Are we going? [20:54:14] Sure. Why not? [20:54:42] * "Alright, I can get you a road map. Do you need a vehicle?" [20:58:04] The ship will not serve if there is no good place to land. [20:58:16] Yeah, I guess we need a vehicle. [21:01:39] * He nods and gives you directions to a part of the spaceport where vehicles can be rented. [21:05:04] Thank you, kind public servant. [21:05:10] * Hex heads that way. [21:05:59] * Jadel heads THAT WAY. [21:06:14] * Xivilai follows! [21:07:15] * You soon arrive THERE. Along the wall there are little miniature holodisplays of all sorts of ground vehicle models,. [21:08:08] * Xivilai starts flipping through. [21:08:42] Maybe I should drive. [21:08:57] * ooooh. Bikes. And mini cars. And big cars. [21:09:21] If it's not you, I'm going alone. [21:10:47] * Xivilai flips through. "Bigger cars. Why aren't any of these armed?" [21:11:11] Maybe because they deal in rental vehicles and not army 'munitions? [21:11:14] I am to small to drive. But I enjoy riding. Travelling on one's own grows wearisome. [21:12:24] Just get something with a sunroof, it's close enough. [21:15:13] * Xivilai sees all sorts of cars. Cars for big people, cars for small people, tiny one-person hover platforms. [21:17:17] * Oh hey, cars with sunroofs. [21:19:18] Ah, that's right, you're more than capable with weapons. [21:19:23] And you brought your own, too. [21:19:58] But of course. [21:24:55] Oh, fine, fine. [21:25:15] Here. Van, two sunroofs. Lots of cargo room if we need to kill people and take their things. [21:26:01] That's always an important thing, yes. [21:28:17] Can I ride in the front seat? [21:34:25] Sure. [21:34:34] I can't, 'cause Jadel's driving. [21:34:46] Yay! [21:40:28] [Session End] End of #Dragonstar buffer Thu May 01 21:40:50 2008
