Start of #TD&DG buffer: Tue Apr 22 20:43:40 2008 [17:25:27] [Mardeux has grown warm in the afternoon sun, and the press of civilians about the streets shopping at the vendors and simply going from here to there impedes progress a little. The blue orc and red kobold do wonders for providing some elbow room, but several already-drunken dwarves seem to be debating whether to confront the monsters.] [17:27:32] [Fortunately, Stella and Althea's skillful interposition between the "monsters" and the potentially beligerant townsfolk keeps problems to a minimum. Presently, they find themselves facing some sober dwarves, lightly armed with picks. They seem to be standing guard over a hole in the side of the mountain. | Start] [17:28:19] Hullo. [17:28:28] * Stella smiles warmly at the nice, nondrunken dwarves. "My, my. What seems to be the trouble?" [17:29:05] *grunts* Idleness, Lass. It gets to a dwarf. We weren't made f'r it. [17:30:21] * Wurr stands behind the others, not giving the drawfs an evil eye. No matter how much he might want. Instead he's very pointedly studying his hands right now. [17:30:23] * Althea approaches the guards. "Pardon us, but we've been sent here by the local apothecary, what's his name? Oh, Floren, that's it. Floren sent us here to get some Myconid spores to help with a potion he's going to be making." [17:31:02] The half-elf? What's he brewin', now? 'E knows it's not safe in there right now. [17:32:19] * Stella continues smiling. "One of the neighboring cities is having a bit of a problem with wererat infections, and we are endeavoring to ease their troubles." [17:33:53] Heh. Little vermin seem t' be everywhere. Well, rats, anyway. Been thick in the mines the last few months. Ye sure ye can't wait f'r the Duke's men t' get 'ere? They be bringin' a priest, most likely. Clear the mines out post-haste. [17:34:35] How long til they come? We probably don't have the time. [17:34:37] Priests are for undead not simple rats. [17:35:15] Yes, I fear time is off the essense. [17:37:13] * Segev (Segev_Stor@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) Quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer#) [17:37:15] * Segev (Segev_Stor@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) has joined #TD&DG [17:37:15] * ChanServ sets mode: +o Segev [17:38:20] * Althea (cyndane12@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) Quit (Ping timeout#) [17:39:41] * Cejev (Segev@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) has joined #TD&DG [17:39:57] * Segev (Segev_Stor@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) Quit (SVSKilled: GHOST command used by Cejev#) [17:41:27] * Cejev is now known as Segev [17:41:29] * ChanServ sets mode: +o Segev [17:46:08] * Cyndane (cyndane12@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) has joined #TD&DG [17:49:16] They should be here in a couple of days. An' it's no' rats that the priest's for. It's the hauntin'. [17:49:40] Haunting? [17:52:06] So if ye c'n wait, we'll be happy t' help. Bruxon's helped us a lot, so we can help out his apprentice. [17:53:51] what type of haunting? [17:55:01] *shrugs* There's just somethin' down there. Somethin' not right. Enough to give an honest dwarf the willies. Been that way for more'n a week, but when the rocks started collapsin' of their own accord... well, we know when we need help. [17:55:34] That's very weird. [17:55:51] (Grah!) [17:55:54] * Cyndane is now known as Althea [17:56:54] Ye can say that again, Lass. An' with Bruxon unreachable thanks t' those blasted kobolds... well, the Duke's bound t' send some men to get his daughter back, an' we've sent word we need a good cleric. [17:57:49] * Stella tilts her head. "What's this about the duke's daughter?" [17:58:32] We need to get through now. [17:58:53] Ye ain't heard? Some bandits have little Elizabeth. Holdin' her hostage an' closin' the pass for some godforsaken reason. [17:59:33] I'll not stop ye, orc. Just don' say ye weren't warned. *steps aside* [18:00:11] What did you say about lots of rats earlier? [18:00:27] Any idea how far in we're going to have to go to find these Myconid spores? [18:01:44] The vermin've just been thick around town lately. And bein' rats, the dark called 'em, I guess. There's lots down there. If the ghosts ain't gotten em, anyway. [18:02:29] Myconids? Aye, they're down a ways. Take the first branch to the left, then work yer way down and to yer right. There's a collapsed floor that leads to their caves. Hope they're alright. [18:04:19] Doesn't matter, ghost, rats, or ghost rats... [18:05:02] * Althea opens her bag and removes an unlit torch from within. "So, shall we go, then?" [18:05:27] * Stella nods. [18:05:33] Sure [18:07:06] * Stella walks cheerfully in. Barefoot, no less. [18:07:18] * Syzix (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) has joined #TD&DG [18:07:23] * Althea walks into the cave with her unlit torch. [18:07:24] [The mine entrance is a narrow, short tunnel in the rock. Not so short as to be uncomfortable...unless you're Wurr, who has to duck under the wooden beams holding up the ceiling. It quickly becomes dark.] [18:08:08] Hard to see... [18:08:28] I guess I should have lit the torch. [18:08:36] That would be a good idea. [18:08:50] * Wurr mumbles. "I hate these things." [18:09:08] It would be helpful, friend Althea. [18:09:25] I never saw the real point to using one, but *shrug* [18:09:33] * Althea casts a Light spell on the most convienent thing, the torch. She then begins digging through her bag for her little flint and tinder to light the torch. [18:09:48] Thanks! [18:10:15] * Althea lights the torch on fire and puts the lighting device back in her pack. "See, that wasn't that bad." [18:11:30] I always wonder why you don't cast light on something you'd have on-hand already. Like a dagger. [18:11:37] * Syzix is now known as Ierick [18:11:41] * Ierick is now known as Ierikc [18:11:46] (I said that stuff. c.c_ [18:11:47] ) [18:12:10] Because then I'd throw the dagger and my light source would be gone. [18:12:20] Magic is hard work, haven't you heard Ierikc? [18:12:22] Why would you throw a dagger in the first place? [18:12:36] * Ierikc clears his throat. "Being a practicioner, I would know." [18:12:52] Hey, you gotta take care of your daggers. Because I don't want to get close enough to use them. If I get that close, then they're that close to me. I was more asking why you don't cast it on, say, an article of clothing. [18:14:19] That way you don't have to carry it and you can't lose it. Put it on a headband or bandanna if you need to be able to conceal it. [18:16:24] [Althea's torch - the magic lighting being more effective than the flame - illuminates the tunnel ahead. It continues for a ways before ending in a "T" shape. There is also a side-tunnel off the left about halfway along.] [18:16:55] I'll do that next time. I just kinda wanted to light the torch as quickly as possible. I've never been in caves before. [18:17:05] And the guard said to go left. [18:18:26] * Althea begins to continue leading the way, just like any good wizard would. [18:19:06] * Ierikc smiles. "Simply trying to make things easier for you." [18:20:59] [Althea leads the way down through a steeply sloping mine tunnel, taking her light with her.] [18:21:15] * Ierikc nudges Lidya and Wurr. "Aren't you going to go protect her?" [18:21:15] Are all caves this dirty? [18:21:36] Sure [18:21:49] * Lidya steps up next to her [18:22:35] * Stella follows along with Althea. "Actually, this is a fairly clean cave. I've slept in far dirtier." [18:22:45] Caves tend to have loose rock in them. [18:22:57] * Wurr catches up with Althea. "Usually princess, see some of us live in a world where dirt, mud, and muck is a way of life" [18:23:25] * Something fuzzy squeaks under Wurr's heavy boot. [18:23:43] * Althea whistles. "Poor people." [18:23:48] * Wurr bends to look a bit. [18:24:31] (As in, "You poor people." Not as in people with little cash.) [18:24:49] * It's a rat! A kinda small one. It looks most distressed to have its tail pinned so ignominiously. [18:25:29] [The sound of something groaning echoes through the dwarf-made cave.] [18:25:31] * Lidya looks down at it [18:25:52] * The rat tries to bite anybody who gets in reach. It can't get its teeth through Wurr's clothes, though. [18:26:16] Awfully aggressive. Or scared. [18:26:20] * Wurr takes his boot off of it and slowly kicks it away. "Rat." [18:26:41] Don't kick the rat. [18:26:46] Hey. [18:27:11] * The rat scurries away! Into a rathole. [18:27:25] I could have stomped on it. [18:27:36] That would be even worse. [18:28:37] See? I didn't. [18:28:55] [The mine smells of old, cold coal, the occasional salty sea breeze, and musty damp wood and earth. [18:28:57] ] [18:28:59] Still doesn't mean you had to kick it. [18:29:33] Just don't hurt them if you can avoid it. [18:29:36] * Althea continues walking along. "This place smells odd." [18:29:47] Yeah... [18:29:54] Reminds me of my younger days. [18:30:08] You were a bad chef in your younger days? [18:30:12] I could have booted it into the wall. [18:30:33] It smells like most underground settlements. [18:30:42] Only with a little more musky coal smell. [18:30:53] [Ahead, another tunnel to the left comes into the light of the torch. It also continues straight ahead.] [18:31:53] * Wurr shrugs just following along. [18:32:05] I'm glad I don't live underground, but I guess I'd get used to the smell after a while. And I think we're supposed to go straight. [18:32:14] * Lidya walks according to the guards' instructions [18:32:34] * Ierikc keeps pace. [18:33:14] * Stella walks along cheerfully. [18:33:27] So, why do kobolds live underground? Do all of you like holes, or something? [18:33:49] Convenient shelter, perhaps? [18:33:52] We're natural miners, and the greatest treasures often start in the earth. [18:34:29] Really? I had no idea you were natural miners. [18:34:40] I thought that was dwarves [18:34:54] I don't see why more than one race couldn't do that. [18:35:20] True [18:35:50] Absolutely. [18:37:31] [Suddenly, as Althea leads the way past the side passage, the wooden beams holding up the mine there collapse!] [18:38:25] * Althea leaps out of the way just in time and almost falls foward, teetering a bit, before regaining her balance. "Waah!" [18:38:44] Hey! You okay? [18:39:10] * Wurr sighs as he sees this. "Nothing can be easy. You good though?" [18:39:38] I almost fell onto the ground. That would have gotten my dress dirty. [18:39:42] [The intersection is mostly collapsed; Althea isn't visible beyond it until she pokes her head carefully around the mound of dirt, stone, and wood, through the 2 foot window left on the side with the passage. [18:39:45] ] [18:40:09] No! The hem of my dress got a little mud on it! [18:40:18] Oh worry worry. [18:40:21] * Jessica is happilly burrowing into the mound of earth, spraying dirt fleks everywhere. [18:40:24] * Althea frantically tries to get the mud off her dress to little effect. [18:40:27] If it bothers you too much, just don't wear it. [18:41:31] Aah! Bad Jessica! Don't get muddy like that! [18:42:08] * Jessica comes mincing out, proudly holding a dead rat in her mouth. [18:43:17] Ierikc, does this look like a trap? [18:43:21] ... hey, I think I hear the ghost. [18:43:28] Over at the side passage [18:43:49] * Ierikc thinks. [18:44:08] I hope the ghost isn't muddy. [18:44:22] * Althea backs away from the dead, dirty rat. [18:44:25] Nope, not really. It's just old. [18:44:34] * Jessica starts eating her meal. [18:44:36] I imagine it would be difficult for a ghost to be muddy. [18:44:45] Shall we investigate then? it seems our way is blocked and I want to punch something. [18:44:53] I would imagine it would be difficult for a ghost to be noisy, but here we are. [18:44:58] It could be ghost mud. [18:45:26] [Everybody but Wurr could squirm past the obstruction rather easilly. Wurr will have to work at it just to get to the side passage, and work equally hard to get to the straight-ahead passage.] [18:45:29] Gostly mud? [18:45:55] I can't say I've ever heard of such a thing. [18:46:21] Either way, it doesn't look too hard to squeeze through. [18:46:33] I don't want to squeeze through. I'll get even more mud on my dress. [18:46:40] I can try. [18:46:56] Besides, aren't the Myconids this way? [18:47:00] Oh just cast a prestidigitation on it when we're done. [18:47:38] * Stella (Indomitabl@c-98-196-117-176.hsd1.tx.comcast.net) Quit (Ping timeout#) [18:48:31] * Wurr snarls. "I could hack through faster then I could squeeze." [18:49:48] * Ierikc takes his pick out and starts squeezing through, picking at bits and pieces of the wall to widen it a minor amount to get Wurr through. [18:50:49] Wow. You really are natural miners. [18:50:49] * Wurr watches a bit, and then will try to squeeze in after Ierikc. [18:51:13] I told you. [18:51:36] [The dirt tries to flow in worse than Ierikc's work, but he is ahead of it, and it eventually gets wide enough that only Wurr even needs to get muddy to make it through. Meanwhile, the cave behind Althea and behind the others... rumbles.] [18:52:04] What's that noise? [18:52:08] * Lidya follows through [18:53:01] * Ierikc edges through the rest of the way once he's done, to make sure he doesn't do any more damage. [18:53:11] [As Althea turns to look, a small, humanoid mount of earth rises from the floor.] [18:53:33] [A similar mound swells out of the side of the mine behind Wurr.] [18:54:23] Ew, look at all that dirt. [18:54:36] * Stella (Indomitabl@c-98-196-117-176.hsd1.tx.comcast.net) has joined #TD&DG [18:55:34] * Ierikc eyes. "Earth elementals, I'd guess." [18:55:38] * The dirt lunges at the "princess", slamming dirt and rock all over her! [18:56:10] * Althea looks like she's about to make a clever retort but instead she decides the ground looks comfortable and just lies down there for a bit. [18:59:01] *there [18:59:04] 12 [18:59:07] ((DAMIT)) [18:59:12] ((MISCHAN)) [19:00:10] * Wurr spins around picks up his fist and slams it into the mound. "Thanks, I needed you." [19:01:49] * The mound rumbles slightly. [19:02:44] * Lidya squeezes through the whole and quickly shifts around the battlefield, remaining on her guard. She ends up on the opposite side of one of the earth elementals [19:04:04] (hole) [19:13:26] * Stella punches the mount of dirt! "I am sorry, but I cannot let you hurt my companions." [19:13:42] * The mound rumbles understandingly. [19:15:23] * Ierikc readies his pick against the mound in front of him and lands a hit home into its chest. It doesn't seem to do too much besides be a solid hit, though. [19:16:09] * It did one other thing. The onyx-like gems in the mound turn to look at the pick, up its haft, and stare dumbly at its wielder. [19:16:38] If you don't mind, I'd like you to leave us alone. [19:16:55] * Althea continues to lie on the ground. On the plus side, since earth elementals don't wield weapons of any kind, there aren't any holes in her dress that she'll need to fix. [19:17:12] * Wurr pulls his blade and swooshes it through the air prettily accidently clipping the elmental with the flt of the blade. [19:18:12] * The elemental shifts its weight - putting a run in one of Althea's stockings as it grinds over her - and headbutts Ierick...or would, if his pick wasn't in the way and holding it back. [19:18:20] (Jerk.) [19:19:05] * Meanwhile, Wurr and Stella's elemental seems to want to get away, and lumbers into the walls. [19:19:53] * Stella cheerfully waves goodbye to the departing elemental. "Do not get into anymore trouble, please!" [19:20:01] * Althea (cyndane12@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) Quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer#) [19:20:12] * Cejev (Segev@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) has joined #TD&DG [19:20:50] * Stella cheerfully waves goodbye to the departing elemental. "Do not get into anymore trouble, please!" [19:21:25] ( Last I saw, too. ) [19:21:27] Thank you for listening to my plea for something to hit. [19:21:52] * Althea (cyndane12@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) has joined #TD&DG [19:22:18] * Segev (Segev@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) Quit (Ping timeout#) [19:23:29] * Lidya steps next to Ierikc real casual-like. [19:24:39] * The elemental sees the halfling leaving herself open, and slams its pseudopod into her. A faint 'crack' can be heard where it hit her ribs. [19:25:20] Oof. [19:25:47] * Or rather, that cracking sound must have been it clacking on her armor. She seems unhurt. [19:25:54] Hah hah! [19:28:09] * Lidya raises her sword arm and taps her bicep with her other arm. She swipes at the elemental, landing a solid blow. [19:28:53] * The elemental loses a largish rock from its form. It clacks and grinds disapprovingly. [19:32:57] * Stella heads over to assist her friends! [19:34:30] * Ierikc places his off-hand on his holy symbol, then places that hand on Althea's unconcious form, her wounds slowly healing. [19:40:05] * Althea continues to lie on the ground, so none of you have to hear her rage at the elemental tearing her stocking. [19:40:27] * The pile of muddy stone, for its part, takes a passing, half-hearted swing at Ierikc, before descending into the ground. [19:41:32] * Lidya swipes at it with her sword again, landing another solid blow [19:43:05] * Ierikc takes a swing and misses the earth elemental, instead hitting some nearby stone. [19:43:30] * Stella takes a kick at the departing golem and scores a light hit. [19:44:15] * Her kick seems to be the last straw, as she dislodges the rocks from the mud, scattering them across the floor of the mine (and getting some dirt in Althea's hair). [19:44:34] * Jessica licks Althea's face protectively. [19:44:56] * Lidya heads over to Althea to check on her. D: [19:45:43] * Ierikc relaxes and puts his pick away. "She'll be fine." [19:45:59] * Cejev is now known as Segev [19:46:00] * ChanServ sets mode: +o Segev [19:46:05] * Althea pushes herself to her knees about half a minute later. "I hate you all." [19:46:49] * Althea coughs up a little blood. [19:48:08] [Althea's torch has gone out. Fortunately, it still emits magical light, which doesn't get snuffed by mud.] [19:48:30] * Jessica seems to decide Althea's okay, and hops up into her hair. [19:48:44] * Althea is in a little too much pain to care. [19:48:44] You're welcome. Next time, how about Lidya leads? [19:48:48] Or Wurr. [19:48:55] I vote Wurr. He's sturdy. [19:49:11] * Wurr slowly works his way around to where Althea is covered with gunk, mud, and muck. "Hug me, Althea." [19:49:16] I vote Lidya. She'll probably see it coming. [19:49:46] I just think someone who doesn't fall down from a mud slap to the face would be wise. [19:49:49] * Althea suddenly feels energetic enough to leap to her feet and then regret it a moment later. "Ow, I really hate you Wurr." [19:49:58] Maybe I could ride on his head and point out things I find obvious. [19:50:27] She's okay! [19:50:30] * Ierikc eyes Lidya. "And maybe you could hide behind a tower shield to become undetectable." [19:50:43] Well, whoever's leading us should probably take the torch then. [19:50:52] I can see without it. [19:51:42] I'll take the torch [19:52:02] * Ierikc inspects the corpse of the earth elemental, digging through the dirt and muck to pull out a couple gemstones. He smiles. [19:52:04] I shall take it, if it is no trouble. It will not hinder me in fighting. [19:52:09] * Althea walks over and kicks the elemental in the head. It's not a forceful kick, but it's a kick. [19:52:11] Even better. [19:52:22] Oh, hey, eyeballs. [19:52:26] Finding treasure where ever aren't you? [19:53:00] * It gets Althea's shoes muddy. Some sloshes over the brim, and trickles down around the arch of her foot. [19:53:17] * Althea wiggles her foot. "Ew, ew, ew. [19:53:50] * Stella doesn't seem to mind, even though she no longer has shoes. [19:54:40] * Wurr shrugs. "Shall we head on then?" [19:54:58] * Ierikc cleans off the stones and pockets them. "Always." [19:55:10] * Wurr nods and will take lead. [19:55:32] [The small chamber illuminated by the torch has an exit to the left and to the right. The one to the left goes into a wider cave, while the one to the left goes down into a longer, muddier tunnel held up by frequent wooden braces.] [19:56:31] * Althea looks nonplussed. "Let's just hurry up and get this done so we can leave and get cleaned up." [19:56:42] Yeah [19:57:08] * Wurr nods and just heads off. [19:58:49] Just a little mud. [19:59:10] Any mud is too much. [19:59:18] [Wurr finds a rough-hewn area of the mine with tools left carefully leaning against the walls, ready for use. The salt-sea smell wars strongly with the smell of coal, here.] [20:00:21] * Wurr frowns looking around. [20:02:38] * A sound of wind and water burbles to the north. [20:03:30] Water elementals now? Let's find out. [20:03:41] Should we be keeping right? [20:03:57] * Wurr ignores the lizard and heads north, he's curious. [20:04:46] I think so, Ierikc, but I was hoping that some of you would help me remember. [20:04:58] * Stella follows along. [20:05:09] * Lidya steps along [20:05:30] * Wurr almost stumbles over a small, naked woman, kicking up quite a cloud of dry dust. She steps out of the way, and gestures angrilly as a desert wind howls in the distance. A small blue man no bigger than the woman gestures back to the sound of a far-off wave crashing. [20:05:31] * Ierikc shrugs. "Let's go find the Mychanoids." [20:05:58] er..umm hi, didn't see you, sorry, most things get out of the way. [20:06:43] These caves are very weird. [20:07:32] ...human? No... *sniffs* Ah, one of you. Don't mind us; these earth elementals are such jerks. [20:07:48] There's likely some planar portal nearby of some kind. [20:07:50] I'm -air-, you halfwit. Dust! [20:07:53] Ah... hi. [20:08:51] Hello. [20:09:06] Having issues with humans? [20:10:07] This human is having issues with the mud. [20:10:13] Humans? Heavens, no. Dusty, here, is the problem. Her and those elemental friends of hers. [20:10:20] My my. [20:10:23] Who doesn't have issues with humans? I mean, seriously. [20:11:17] Oh, I hit one, it seemed to hear me that I needed something to hit. don't think I hurt it. Hope not. What seems to be the issue... [20:11:26] * Wurr looks VERY uncomfortable negotiating. [20:11:45] * Stella gently rests a hand on Ierikc's head. "Now, now. I'm sure we can all find reasons to get along." [20:11:55] Mud? Oh, my, yes. It's all this indigo idiot's fault; turns perfectly dry dust into a clingy mess. Here, let me help. *blows very dry, dusty air on Althea, drying the mud into caked dirt and powdery dust* [20:12:19] Alright, so what's going on here? Living space disagreements? [20:12:33] Oh, please, hit them. They're pouring into the water plane and clogging up the coral something fierce. [20:12:56] * Ierikc looks up at Stella. "I didn't say I had problems with *all* humans, just some of them." [20:14:08] * Stella smiles. "Of course!" [20:14:44] Okay, so why are they pouring into the water plane? [20:14:54] Well what would you do when you say you need something to hit and it just appears? [20:14:57] Out of space on the plane of earth, I'd guess. [20:15:31] *sigh* I don't know! But the stupid fishmen got me stuck here when I chased 'em back. [20:15:57] you're stuck? [20:16:19] Well, -yeah-! I'm not an earthy! [20:16:21] Fishmen? [20:16:31] Wait, wait, Dusty. You're stuck? [20:16:58] Yeah, fish, legs, big eyes, begging for a hook in the lips? "bloobloobloop" and all that? [20:17:20] Well, looks like we may have a solution to both our problems, then. [20:17:36] ....umm he doesn't lookw that fishy to me. [20:17:39] * Althea brushes some dirt off her dress. [20:17:51] Yeah, Blue, you don't think I -like- being underground, and WET. [20:19:03] I'm -not- a fish. She means a kuo-toa. "Blibdoolpoolp" probably means kuo-toa. They're all over the coral that's being clogged by the mud elementals. [20:19:36] Is the ghost that people are talking about related to all this mess? [20:19:49] Aaah, Kuo-toa. Okay. [20:20:09] Probably.. umm.. wait... Ierikc if you have wood getting moist and then real dry then moist then real dry fast...what happens? [20:20:37] I wouldn't be surprised if they mistook the elementals and the smaller folk for ghosts. [20:20:54] ... uh oh [20:21:13] I haven't seen any ghosts. [20:21:17] Me, neither. [20:21:27] The wood will warp and weaken. [20:22:08] The wood used in a mine should be treated properly against moisture so it doesn't affect it as badly. [20:22:21] Probably why it hasn't collapsed already. It's in pretty bad shape. [20:22:38] You said should. Anyways let's see if we can fix this... Althea you are better then I with these things? [20:22:42] Explains why it tried to fall on me. Although that's bad timing for me. [20:23:36] I might be able to do something about it, Wurr. [20:23:53] You can get rid of the earth elementals? They're such -pests-! [20:24:41] Agreed. [20:25:25] I agree, they ARE annoying. [20:25:41] They're jerks. [20:25:46] Sure. We'll see what we can do. I understand how it's not fun to swim in mud or try to enjoy the dry air when mud is splashing on you. [20:25:53] * Wurr is trying to play neutral. [20:26:07] * The two mephits nod in agreement. [20:27:13] Well, we probably should go meet them, then. [20:28:11] Sure, let's do that. [20:28:24] Don't waste your time; they're too stupid. [20:28:43] But they're everywhere. The big one's a little smarter, but it's a bigger jerk, too. [20:28:50] Maybe slow, but we don't know about stupid until we meet them. [20:28:52] Well, one of them seemed fairly understanding when we fought earlier. [20:28:54] Where is the big one? [20:29:12] I'm sure we can bring them to some sort of understanding. [20:29:17] Last I saw, up in the big room, helping the metal-eating mouth make a lair. [20:29:37] Ah, don't you love rust monsters? [20:29:59] * Wurr goes a light blue as he mouths "metal eating mouth". [20:30:27] I think this is a case for my sling. [20:31:02] Well, just don't make it mad. [20:31:43] Yeah, um, no. Avoid that. It chews on pearls like they're sugar. [20:32:41] Why would they help that thing make a lair? [20:33:13] Dunno. Think they're friends. Tried to eat me. But I crumbled the little ones. [20:33:38] Pearls? [20:33:40] Well, shall we be off to talk to them? [20:33:45] Do you know if it talks? [20:33:56] Nothing intelligeable. [20:34:01] I... don't think I like thise thing. [20:34:06] Philistine; you can't even speak Terran? [20:35:18] I'm afraid I don't speak Terran either. [20:35:29] Not me... [20:36:21] Can you describe the creature a little more? I'm not getting a good mental image of it. [20:36:22] That's all the big one's friend speaks. [20:36:33] It's shaped like a worm. [20:36:43] Sort of an eel. With four lips. [20:37:00] And four eyes. One below each lip. And lots of teeth. [20:37:00] * Wurr looks around. "Any one speak it?" [20:37:25] Not me. [20:38:13] My linguistic talents deal with the celestials and the fiends, not with earth creatures. [20:38:49] Although I know Undercommon, if they know that. [20:39:09] Right I'll just have to speak the language everything understands. [20:39:28] Pantomime? [20:39:35] Good luck. Dusty here wasn't speaking sense even when she was speaking a language. [20:39:37] Yes. [20:40:04] it's only a -4 to throw earth elementals at it. [20:40:38] I'd ask for an interpreter, but i dont' tihnk we're going to solve this by talkin [20:40:46] *rolls her eyes* And blue here can't hear with all the water logging his ears. [20:41:01] * The two switch back to their various elemental tongues, and seem to be arguing again. [20:41:19] Well, let's see what we find out on the way up there in the first place, shall we? [20:41:38] Sure. [20:41:48] * Ierikc mutters something in draconic. "Maybe we should find the Mychanoids first and get that cure." [20:41:54] Well... delay.
