Start of #TD&DG buffer: Tue Aug 05 21:37:39 2008 [17:13:35] [The water stops rising, and the stone wall slides down, leaving the occupants treading water at the top of a deep, ten-foot-on-a-side shaft and looking out onto a broad, open room that must take up the entire top floor of the tower.] [17:13:35] [Climbing out, the water evaporates in dry desert air almost instantly, leaving the heroes to take in the mirrors that reflect scenes other than those before them, binding circles of varying sizes, and glass globes hovering over fire pits, beneath air shafts in the ceiling, and containing various fluids and solids.] [17:16:17] [Four massive tomes lie on reading podia in the corners of the room, positioned so the reader would have his back to the corner. An attractive woman clad in veils flips through one of them, speaking to herself as she gestures at a binding circle with a swirl of sand and dust within it. Lying next to an empty summoning circle lies the dessicated corpse of a dwarf, at least several days dead.] [17:16:21] [Start!] [17:17:38] * Stella looks around a bit. [17:18:29] * The young lady doesn't seem to notice the arrival of the party. A small femanine form vaguely resembling Dusty from the mines briefly solidifies from the swirling dust in the binding circle, but vanishes along with the dust and sand as it collapses in on itself with a *pop*. [17:18:46] * Althea gazes about the tower, taking in the scenery. "So, what's going on in here, then?" [17:18:52] Wow. Thta was weird. [17:19:04] Oh my. [17:19:16] * Ierikc glances around momentarily, then grins. "Good to see the place kept in order. The water bit had me worried." [17:19:41] *looks up, startled* Oh! Worried? Water? What? [17:20:59] I think he was worried about the water transportation system we used to get here. [17:21:54] Certainly one of the more esoteric means to reach the high location of the tower. I wonder what you used to reinforce the stonework. [17:22:36] I'm sorry, I don't know-- can I help you? Who are you? *fully takes in Ierikc* Oh, great, those kkobolds have finally gotten up here *muttered to herself* [17:22:48] Hey, I'm not with the other kobolds. [17:23:24] Oh, was it not you that evicted the other one? [17:23:31] So, it's by your hand that those kobolds were leaving the tower? [17:23:33] * Ierikc takes his hood down, showing his red scalage. "They were annoying enough to get by. Insisting you were being occupied by their elder." [17:24:17] You're not? That's good. They made a mess of the lower floors. I had to throw one of them out through the wall. *gestures to a window that, upon closer inspection, doesn't look like an -intentional- addition to the architecture* [17:24:39] Why are you here? [17:24:40] * Ierikc bows. "Fine evening to you, lady. I'm Ierikc, and these are Althea, Stella, Lidya, and Wurr." He motions to his companions in turn. [17:24:51] * Lidya bows. [17:24:55] Pleased to meet you! [17:24:59] We came here to find the wizard of the tower. [17:25:16] I belive she is the wizard of the tower. Unless I'm mistaken, lady? [17:25:28] Regardless, we should show her due respect. [17:25:32] ...I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I think that's him. *points to the dead dwarf* At least, he's the one who summoned me. [17:26:14] * Ierikc rubs his chin. "That would... be a problem. Care to expand on what transpired?" [17:26:51] And you are? I mean, we've been introduced. [17:27:51] No, I wouldn't care to, really. And I'm Shalla. Sorry. [17:28:41] And what are you doing with all your free time now? [17:29:07] * Ierikc spies the summoning circles. "Whatever it is, I suspect it has something to do with why the mines have turned into a soggy mudhole." [17:30:01] We were coming to deal with a couple problems, but it looks like we found a few other issues to deal with. [17:30:12] Not really 'free'; I can't get out of here. I'm trying to keep the old fool's portals closed. After-- after a marid broke the circle... they're rotating. And since I'm stuck here, I dno't want to get caught by a bigger genie or elemental. [17:30:34] * Ierikc walks over the dwarf and checks his corpse. [17:31:15] * She gasps, and runs across the room to another corner and book. The circle near thta one seems to have a tentacle reaching out of a solidifying fog within, and she flips rapidly through the pages. [17:31:18] That might explain whythey'd been opening up... [17:31:45] You might want to check something on that other one. [17:31:58] Althea, could you assist her if she needs it. Last thing we need is this getting even more out of hand. [17:32:03] [The corpse looks like it's been dead for days. Maybe weeks; it's hard to tell, due to the dryness. Its beard is wiry and brittle, and it has a fine wizard's robe.] [17:33:20] Magic circles are finicky things. You have to be careful with them, or stuff like this happens. [17:34:11] Do you know what happened to that Marid, Shalla? [17:34:27] Goodness. [17:34:59] Once he died, she tore open one of the circles and stepped through. I didn't want to follow, so tried to leave by my own means, but the ethereal's sealed up here. By the time I tried her portal, it had closed. [17:35:43] * Shalla mutters as she runs a finger down a page. The tentacle has been joined by an eye peering through the misty portal, but can't quite seem to reach the edge of the circle to try the binding just yet. [17:36:10] Stay back; this is the broken one. It might get out. [17:36:18] * Stella looks over. [17:36:45] * Ierikc glances at Shalla, noting her scimitar but not saying anything. [17:37:21] I'm going to look through his notes to see if I can find what he was trying to do. Tell me if something bad happens. [17:37:32] * Althea goes and picks up a book to give it a good flip through. [17:37:50] * Ierikc starts looking through another one of the books. [17:38:19] I'll help too! [17:38:21] * Lidya goes to look [17:41:37] Ah, this book focuses on earth elements. I'm willing to bet that the other books are other elements. [17:41:42] * Althea goes to check! [17:41:53] As far as I can tell, he probably summoned a Marid to persuade it to some sort of service. After all, legend is that a Marid can perform wishes for mortals, such as what he once was. [17:42:04] But usually you must compel one to service somehow. [17:43:07] Hmm... this one's about air! [17:43:19] * Ierikc nods. "Fire. And the other one's likely about water, right Shalla?" [17:43:39] So, which one of these did you pop out of, Shalla? [17:44:38] * Ierikc checks the binding circle that Shalla's working on, looking at the creature and trying to figure out what it is. [17:44:43] You are correct. And I'm not sure; if he screwed up any of them, I--maybe? I was on the plane of Fire at the time, so probably that one. But he wasn't surprised to get me, so I'm not sure. *sounds bitter* [17:45:16] I'd be pretty bitter if I was summoned like that. [17:45:31] * The eye focusses on Ierikc, and the tentacle lashes out at him, not quite reaching. "Careful!" calls Shalla. "This one's not a Marid or a mephit; trying to find how to seal it." [17:45:33] Well, the obvious solution here is to try and repair the circle. [17:45:52] * Stella taps Ierikc. "Do try not to antagonize the aboleth." [17:46:02] * Ierikc nods. "I'm trying to get a better look at the circle to find how to repair it." [17:46:36] * Ierikc keeps a 'bit more of a distance to not prompt the creature into action. [17:46:56] *muttering in reply to Ierikc's comment* ...try being summoned for use as an houri and not be bitter. Dirty old man. [17:47:07] A what? [17:48:11] * Ierikc hisses. "It's a dwarf. What do you expect?" [17:48:11] * Stella says something to the tentacled thing that sounds horrible and offensive to the ear. She continues smiling beatifically. [17:48:11] Of course I'd still be unhappy, though. [17:48:38] Do you really wish to know, Lidya? [17:48:50] * Althea holds open the earth book to a page with elaborately drawn circles. "Well, luckily he left us with a roadmap to draw the circle by." [17:49:02] Nah, it's fine. [17:49:06] * Ierikc glances at the book. "So he did. That's convenient." [17:49:11] * Lidya flips open the air book too [17:49:19] *gurgles something unpleasently malevolent* [17:50:58] Well, mind if we borrow that book for a moment, Shalla? [17:51:44] In a moment... *gestures precisely, and utters a couple words in aquan* ...go ahead. [17:51:57] [Nothing happens in response to Shalla's attempted chanting.] [17:52:26] Ah, too bad. The Aboleth is beligerent. Also, I am sorry to hear of your predicament, Shalla. [17:53:26] I wasn't expecting the Aboleth to be particularly cordial. [17:53:28] Tentacle-things in the water plane always are. Your sympathies are appreciated, but can it wait until we get this thing to stop being here? [17:53:51] * Althea walks over to take the aqua book and flips through it. "Someone want to find me some of the chalk he was using to draw these?" [17:53:51] * Stella nods. "Certainly." [17:54:37] * Ierikc starts studying the aquan book as well. If he's double-checking or simply doing it himself, knowing it inside and out would be of great assistance. [17:56:31] [There's nothing really for banishing Aboleths, specifically. Really, it doesn't look like it's meant to summon any. So this one's probably taking advantage of a rift; maybe it's possible to force the rift away. Here, on page 28.] [17:58:07] * Lidya looks around for chalk. Cahlk chalk chalk. [17:58:24] * Ierikc turns the book to that page, if Althea doesn't. [17:58:29] Regardless, I don't think we're going to be able to close it with that tentacle there. Too bad we don't have a big mousetrap. [17:58:48] We probably would have used it on the wererats already if we had one, though. [17:58:55] If it comes to that, I could cause the tentacle to be removed. [17:59:10] Ooh, right here [17:59:17] * Lidya reaches for the podium's leg and produces a piece of chalk [17:59:45] I'd be careful of that. We wouldn't want anybody getting controlled, or worse. And the way I think these work, as long as nobody breaks the circle, the aboleth can't do anything to us directly. In theory. [18:00:30] It's already kinda broken. [18:01:02] Er, yeah. That's the one the Marid broke out of. [18:01:26] That probably explains all the water all over the place. Fix that up and the other problems *should* resolve. [18:01:59] * Lidya starts sharing chalk. "So we just draw these things and everyone goes home, totally fine?" [18:02:16] We could establish a new circle around the old one. [18:02:55] Well, it'll hopefully get the aboleth gone. But the spells are still rotating openings through the circles. I can't figure out how to shut it down. [18:04:29] * Althea takes chalk from Lidya. "But we have to be careful to draw it correctly." [18:04:39] Yeah. Who knows what'd happen if we don't? [18:05:34] * Althea kneels down on the floor, the skirt of her dress sprawling out on the floor. "Um... yeah. My attire doesn't really work for this. My skirt would mess up the chalk lines." [18:05:50] * Althea stands back up. "Who wants to try?" [18:06:14] I shall. [18:06:24] * Stella walks over and accepts the piece of chalk. [18:10:41] [The aboleth's foggy portal is widening, and it seems to be getting...closer.] [18:12:00] * Stella starts marking the floor as directed. [18:13:17] Hopefully it won't be coming here. I don't think it's interested in tea and bicuits. [18:14:22] It is not. [18:15:24] They're never interested in tea and biscuits. [18:16:08] Um, will an elemental binding really contain an aboleth? They're not elementals or genies. [18:16:24] This is true. [18:16:34] Is this binding only for elementals? [18:16:42] * Ierikc flips quickly to one of the pages and quickly reads. "Here, we can shift the open portal to another one. But we need the power of a genie or an elemental." [18:16:57] That could be useful. [18:17:12] I'm neither a genie or an elementa. [18:17:15] Also, a magic circle should be able to bind any extraplanar creature. They're mostly used for genies or elementals. [18:17:21] What do I have to do? [18:20:48] * Stella continues her inscription then, just in case. [18:22:22] [Good thing, too. Just as Stella finishes the last jot, another tentacle forces its way through, and the first one reaches out and slams into the just completed barrier.] [18:22:23] * Ierikc reads over the directions. He takes a quick look over to the fire book, his small form looking pretty comical holding the giant tomes. He mumbles to himself in Draconic. "Okay, I see, I see." [18:22:46] To shift it we don't need that sort of power. But to close the whole system we do. [18:23:08] First we should shift it. Closing it should be a last resort. I trust our friend Shalla here wouldn't want to be stuck here. [18:23:19] * Lidya nods [18:23:24] There are probably worse places than here. [18:23:37] * Ierikc starts going through the process of shifting the open portal. [18:23:57] I -am- stuck here, or I'd have left before I knew the lecherous old coot had made such a big problem! [18:25:26] Well, then I can say with certainty that there are worse places than here. [18:26:31] [Ierikc struggles with the ritual, but seems to be missing something key. The fog tries to compress inwards, but the aboleth pushes back.] [18:26:58] Uh oh [18:27:05] Want me to give it a try? I can hear where you're having problems there. [18:27:14] And I'm not even looking at the ritual instructions. [18:27:27] Yeah, all these distractions are not helping my concentration. [18:29:16] * Althea walks over to Ierikc. "Mind handing me the book then?" [18:29:36] * Ierikc holds the book up. "It's not as easy as it looks, believe me." [18:30:29] It never is. That's the challenge of arcane magic. [18:30:41] That's the thing. It's not exactly arcane. [18:30:44] lemme try to help.. [18:30:58] * Lidya gets to work [18:30:59] * Althea takes the book so she can get a better look. "Close enough." [18:32:00] [Between Althea, Ierikc, and Lidya, they manage to get it down, and the little halfling rogue's magic act apparently really sells it, as the Aboleth squawks once as the fog slams closed. A single tentacle that didn't get pulled back in time lies writhing in the circle.][ [18:32:17] Eew [18:32:22] It's not gonna grow into another one, is it? [18:32:39] *whew* Alright. Now what? If the cycle keeps up, the air portal will open next. Probably soon; that one stayed open for far too long. [18:32:42] I think it will. But I wouldn't touch that. [18:32:56] I don't know. [18:32:56] How long as this been going on, Shalla? [18:33:08] * Stella looks at the tentacle and considers a new belt. [18:34:06] [After a couple minutes, the tentacle's flailing subsides.] [18:34:29] I don't know...a couple weeks? Since I got summoned and the Marid killed him. [18:35:00] Well, let's finish this then. [18:35:10] It's been going on long enough. [18:35:40] Yeah [18:36:30] I'll say. [18:36:45] * Stella nods. [18:36:45] * Ierikc reviews the books, plopping the fire book down. "Here's the ritual to close the portals down." [18:37:10] * Althea grabs the air book to see if there's a similar ritual in it. [18:37:19] * Lidya hands it off gladly! [18:37:46] We're supposed to Summon an Efreet, then us-. Oh come on. That's just a little overkill. [18:37:50] [There is, but less complete. Looks like air was the least well-researched.] [18:37:57] What? [18:38:09] You'd think that this guy'd be a little more studious than that if he was a 'great mage'. [18:38:10] Efreet are -mean-, but powerful. What do you need one for? [18:38:18] A Wish to shut down the portals. [18:38:30] That's such a 'brute force' way of doing things. [18:39:26] ...that should work. Can you control the efreeti to -get- the wishes? They don't take kindly to being bossed around. [18:40:44] Such an inelegant solution. [18:41:05] * Ierikc checks. "Well, he did do something right. The fire circles are much stronger than the other ones, for just that purpose." [18:42:15] So yes. Of course, we'd also have two other wishes to deal with. But how do you suppose we get an Efreeti here? [18:42:18] * Ierikc checks the book. [18:43:06] There are summoning procedures for all four kinds of genie. I'm guessing there's one for Jann somewhere, too, but I haven't seen it. [18:43:44] * Ierikc checks the procedures. [18:44:05] [They're there, as advertised.] [18:45:53] * Althea (cyndane12@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) Quit (Ping timeout) [18:46:47] ( I think you meant Shalla. ^^ ) [18:47:05] * Segev (Segev_Stor@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) Quit (Ping timeout) [18:47:28] (I think he ment (Ping timeout)) [18:48:35] ( Yeah. ) [19:56:38] * Segev (Segev@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) has joined #TD&DG [19:56:38] * ChanServ sets mode: +o Segev [20:01:07] [20:43] So yes. Of course, we'd also have two other wishes to deal with. But how do you suppose we get an Efreeti here? [20:01:07] [20:43] * Ierikc checks the book. [20:01:07] [20:44] There are summoning procedures for all four kinds of genie. I'm guessing there's one for Jann somewhere, too, but I haven't seen it. [20:01:07] [20:45] * Ierikc checks the procedures. [20:01:08] [20:45] [They're there, as advertised.] [20:01:15] * Althea (cyndane12@67-43-246-250-cablemodem-roll.fidnet.com) has joined #TD&DG [20:02:08] [20:43] So yes. Of course, we'd also have two other wishes to deal with. But how do you suppose we get an Efreeti here? [20:02:08] [20:43] * Ierikc checks the book. [20:02:08] [20:44] There are summoning procedures for all four kinds of genie. I'm guessing there's one for Jann somewhere, too, but I haven't seen it. [20:02:08] [20:45] * Ierikc checks the procedures. [20:02:11] [20:45] [They're there, as advertised.] [20:02:11] [Resume.] [20:02:29] So, how do we do this? [20:04:16] Well, the earth binding circle is strongest, and we need to summon a genie. So, we just try to use one of the rituals in the earth book to summon an earthly-aligned genie to solve the problem. [20:04:41] (Sorry, fire is strongest.) [20:05:18] Okay. I'll help however I can. [20:06:32] * Shalla moves over near the fire corner, but tries to stay out of the way. [20:07:16] * Althea moves over to the fire corner as well. "Hopefully this will go well." [20:08:10] * Ierikc nods. "Let's do this." [20:09:03] * Lidya moves over to the fire corner [20:09:19] * Stella nods, still smiling, and also goes over to the fire corner. [20:09:28] * Ierikc prepares to do the thing in the fire corner. "If you'd like to assist, we can make sure this goes right. We do *not* want this to fail." [20:10:24] [The ritual is actually pretty clearly delineated. It isn't -simple-, but it's straight-forward once you get past the technical jargon. Within a few minutes, just as a wispy swirl of wind is starting in the air elemental binding circle, a flaming six-pointed star consisting of dual triangles opens up in the fire binding.] [20:11:42] [Climbing up from the flaming pit is a great, horned humanoid clad only in fire. "WHO DARES SUMMON FIRAGNE?" he bellows, looming tall and powerful, his flames barely contained by the binding circle.] [20:24:10] * Stella steps forward, smiling with good cheer and apparently not worried about the tallness and power of the efreet. "Greetings, Firange. I am Stella Ohrensausen. I and my friends have summoned you, that we may seek your mighty assitance in rectifying certain inconveniences that have befallen us recently, and which, it seems, are spreading to bother more and more as time progresses." [20:25:42] And what might that be, that I should deign to answer your petty requests? [20:27:04] * Stella continues smiling peacefully as she says, "A series of growing, spreading, and multiplying planar breaches leading to the Elemental Planes. Their functioning is erratic and certain only in that their influence is growing." [20:28:50] I do imagine that this may be of some concern to a powerful Efreet with territory on the Plane of Fire who seeks to guard his property and prevent his slaves from escaping. [20:29:19] * Firagne glances about the room, snorting fire from his aristocratic nostrils. "Mortal wizards and witches dabbling in the powers of the planes, and losing control, now want me to fix all their petty problems? Would you like a scone and some pretty baubles to play with, while you're at it?" [20:30:48] * Stella shakes her head. "Oh, no such thing. We are actually dealing with the mess of another, who we shall see suitably punished for the trouble he has caused in good time." [20:31:39] Will you hear what we have to ask? [20:31:54] I have yet to hear anything worth my-- [20:32:09] Oh, just hear them out, Frank! [20:33:36] * The efreeti whirls on the girl. "FRANK!?" he hisses until she winks at him, adjusting a veil. He then rolls his eyes. "Shalla. Very well," he says, irritated. "Speak your say," he says to Stella. [20:35:04] * Lidya grins [20:37:03] * Stella nods. "Firstly, many of the children of the duchy of Orlan have been aflicted with an unfortunate lycanthropy recently; if it is possible for you, we would see it cured." [20:38:04] Name one child you would see cured. [20:40:02] * Stella tilts her head. "It is only within your ability to cure one at a time?" [20:41:27] *narrows his eyes, which burn menacingly* It is all I am willing to cure at one time. Be grateful for my generosity. Perhaps I could cure up to two more, if you named them. But that would be the conclusion of our...transaction. [20:44:07] I think the lycanthropy problem is within our ability to solve, Stella. [20:44:26] It may take a little work, but, as I understand it, you're not afraid of a little work. [20:47:13] * Ierikc nods. "If not within our ability, definetly within the ability of the wizard." [20:47:43] The wizard is dead, and good riddance. [20:48:22] Hey, Firagne, are you going to take Shalla back with you when you leave? I mean, you two seem to know each other. [20:48:32] * Stella turns to Shalla. "Do you mind if we have him revived? I assure you, we will prevent him from doing anything untoward to you." [20:49:40] *laughs derisively* Shalla's no creature of fire, and I wouldn't burden myself with her presence longer than necessary. [20:51:02] *sniffs* Frank's not taking me anywhere. Get this spell lifted, and I'm outta here. And if I never see that ugly little troll of a dwarf take another breath, it'll be too soon. [20:51:44] Well, I guess that's good enough. [20:57:28] How come you two know each other anyway? [20:59:26] I travel a lot, and Frank here's an old friend of the family. Also, he owes me. [20:59:34] * Ierikc snerks. [21:00:00] Ah, which is how you could call him Frank and get away with it. [21:00:03] Ever had an annoying kid sister? Yeah. *jerks his thumb at Shalla* I'm told it's just like that. [21:00:32] I'm the youngest child in my family, so no, I've never had a younger sister. I guess that makes me the annoying kid sister then. [21:02:44] I had one. Then I slept for about a hundered years and she's likely long dead by now. [21:03:22] Wouldn't that cause bed sores? [21:03:52] You have *no* idea. [21:04:42] * Althea winces in sympathy. "Indeed, and please don't tell me." [21:06:14] Well, if no one else is going to speak up, I'll make the three wishes: I wish that the portals here would be closed, I wish that the wizard here woudl be revived, and I wish that I was as beautiful as my sisters. [21:06:30] Very well. Granted, granted, and granted. [21:07:08] Sorry, Shalla; them's the breaks. Adieu. *bows, and vanishes in a puff of flame* [21:08:33] [The tower shivers, and the growing vortex of air in the air circle winks out. Shalla sighs, "Ah, I'm free." As the wizard, suddenly a healthy, if elderly, dwarf, starts to pick himself up, she groans, "Excuse me, but I'm leaving," and fades out.] [21:09:06] * Ierikc bows to Shalla just as she leaves. "Pleaser to meet your acquaintance." [21:09:10] (err, pleasure) [21:09:30] Ah, dear. [21:09:47] I hope his understanding of the definition of 'here' included the breaches back at the mines. [21:09:56] Let's hope so. [21:10:50] * Ierikc walks over to the dwarf and looks down at him, offering his claw. "Good afternoon, I trust you had a good rest." [21:11:10] * Althea changes in a poof of smoke (fire genies like smoke, right?) from the average looking girl that everyone was growing used to into a beautiful young lass, golden tresses flowing freely around her as her dress clings to her curvy form, leaving little to the imagination while not revealing anything. [21:11:25] *coughing, clearing a dry throat* Rest? I was -dead-. That's not restful. Try it sometime. What happened? [21:11:44] I've come close. Believe me. [21:12:31] From what I understand... [21:12:58] Your portals here screwed things up. We came to fix your portals, by which I mean destroy them. Sorry, but we couldn't figure out a better way. [21:13:02] You brought a Marid here for some reason, it killed you. [21:13:23] We shut down the portals and, in the process, raised you. [21:13:35] * Bruxon pushes past Ierikc. "Never mind, I can guess. After that Janni freed the Marid, I am sure the portals went out of control. My apologies for the inconvenience. It seems you closed them, though. How long have I been dead?" [21:14:01] * Ierikc hmms. "A good seven days, give or take." [21:14:15] A few weeks, accordign to the Janni. We don't know as we were brought in to solve the problem. [21:14:33] Hmph. Well, I'm sure there's a mess to take care of. Who sent you? [21:14:33] We came seeking answers to *another* question, however. And that problem of the portals appearing in town. [21:15:01] We more sent ourselves, since nobody heard from you in such a long time and we required your services for the problem with portals. [21:15:23] But your assistant, [insert name here], was also concerned. [21:16:24] (Floren) [21:17:45] (Floren, then) [21:18:28] Yeah, there's quite the problem going around, and a little expertise was needed. [21:18:32] We're also seeking help in regards to a wererat outbreak recently. Would you know something about dealing with that? [21:18:39] He's a good lad. What's this about wererats? [21:18:42] They're going after kids. [21:18:42] And at this point, I think you probably owe us the help. [21:19:45] * The dwarf snorts at Althea. "Pretty lass. Pity brains seem inversly proportional to looks. Probably should watch her mouth 'fore it gets your whole group in trouble." [21:20:27] * Stella continues smiling. "Oh, it may be too late for that." [21:20:55] * Althea stomps her foot. "Hey!" [21:21:34] * Ierikc hisses in amusement. [21:22:33] We are seeking assistance in this endevor, however. Oh, there's also a group of kobolds in the valley that were trying to reach you... They're not associated with me or us, however. [21:22:46] Probably because they're jerks. [21:23:00] I said nothing of the sort. [21:23:31] Wait... weren't we trying to rescue a princess? [21:23:55] I'll look into it. Doubtless, Floren's worked out something for your wererat problem? I'll look it over. Send the boy out here when you get back to town. [21:24:29] Well, he has at least the standard cure, as I understand it. Not my realm of expertise, though. [21:24:35] He has a temporary 'patch' for it, but it is by no means a long-term solution. [21:26:09] Wait, princess? Elizabeth? Rescue her from what? *actually seems upset* [21:26:36] No, the princess was dead, remember? [21:26:48] So was Bruxon. [21:27:08] ...how did this happen? [21:27:25] I'm not sure. [21:27:34] * Ierikc thinks. "True. You could have wished her back to life as well. But I doubt that would have gone over nearly as well, and I don't know if she'd take it. It's quite an ordeal to come back to life, as Bruxon knows." [21:29:59] I imagine it would leave quite the headache. [21:30:26] Then how do you know she's dead? [21:31:05] * Ierikc sighs. "We found the remains of a funeral procession while passing through the pass." [21:31:27] (err, mourning herald. Or something like that) [21:33:27] I...see. *sighs* I will attend her funeral. If Floren's cure is satisfactory for now, I will work on expanding it after that sad event is done. Let's go to Mardeaux. I'll join the mourning processional, and you can get back to your cure. Come. [21:34:00] Sounds good. It's way too hot out here anyway. [21:34:24] Very well. [21:36:02] [Bruxon spares a few minutes to pack some things, then takes the water elevator back down. Apparently, that's how it's supposed to work.] [21:37:17] [The travel back to Mardeaux is subdued, thanks to Bruxon's dwarven stoicism being made into pure beligerant silence by his melancholy. Thus, it is somewhat of a relief to get back to the city, even without a permanent cure for the children's lycanthropy.] [21:37:20] [End Session.] End of #TD&DG buffer Tue Aug 05 21:37:39 2008
