[18:58:20] <Demota> <Miki> It's... uh... going well. We're having a bit of a handful with the first years.

[18:58:45] <Demota> <Kentaro> What seems to be the problem?
[18:58:51] <Demota> <Miki> Nothing too serious, they're just a lot more enthusiastic than hard-working... ... hm.
[18:58:57] <Demota> * Kentaro nods. "I know how that goes."
[19:00:46] <Demota> <Miki> So what do you do with them mostly anyway?
[19:01:49] <Kentaro> What, the first years? You mean- Are you accusing me of cheating? I'm wounded!
[19:02:37] <Demota> <Miki> H-hey! Nah, that's not what I meant.
[19:04:32] * Kentaro rests his chin on his hand. "Well, good. Well, uh, how about we start drilling them? In a 
  non-cheating way."
[19:05:37] * Kentaro claps his hands twice, and then three times more in a stacatto beat. "Hey! Hey, first-years! Listen 
  up!"
[19:05:45] <Demota> <Miki> Uh... yeah. Sure. Okay. 
[19:05:57] <Demota> * The first years look over. They look a little lost and confused.
[19:06:33] <Kentaro> I'm gonna guess that you're all in drama club because you like drama or because your girlfriend is 
  making you be in drama club so she doesn't break up with you.
[19:06:56] * Kentaro looks over to Miki and nudges her shoulder with his left hand. "Love you."
[19:06:59] <Demota> <Sleepy first year> Uh... yeah.
[19:07:03] <Demota> <Miki> Uh... yeah. @_@
[19:07:37] <Kentaro> Anyways, we're gonna get warmed up, so I want alls of y'alls in a cirlce.
[19:07:54] * Kentaro begins leading the first years in basic theatre warm-ups.
[19:07:59] <Demota> * The first years get up, and arragne themselves in an oblong ellipse.
[19:08:24] <Kentaro> What? No, that won't do!
[19:08:48] <Demota> <Skinny First Year> Huh?
[19:09:24] <Kentaro> Hold hands, and then walk backwards, and then stop holding hands. You're all going to get acquainted.
[19:09:52] <Demota> * The first years look uncomfortable about the prospects of holding hands...
[19:09:56] <Demota> <Miki> Just do it.
[19:10:01] <Demota> * They hold hands
[19:11:07] <Demota> * They step backwards, then stop holding hands.
[19:11:15] <Kentaro> Thanks, lady.
[19:11:23] <Demota> <Miki> No problem.
[19:11:42] <Kentaro> Alright, so...
[19:12:25] * Kentaro begins instructing the first years in the particulars of theatrical games designed for ice-breaking 
  and warming up, trying to keep them focused on the task at hand.
[19:15:14] <Demota> * The first years follow to the best of their ability. It'snot great, and they stumble a bit, but 
  Kentaro's a charismatic guy, and Miki is a girl good at getting people to work, and it eventually goes smoothly.
[19:17:35] <Demota> <Miki> Good work.
[19:17:56] * Kentaro claps entheusiastically. "Alright! Looks like you guys are getting the hang of it."
[19:19:40] <Demota> * Miki smiles.
[19:20:14] <Demota> <Miki> Okay... Kentaro, you weren't here, but we decided on the school play.
[19:20:22] <Kentaro> Awesome!
[19:20:37] <Demota> <Miki> It's a local legend. Care to take a guess?
[19:21:27] * Kentaro rests his hand on his chin. "Is it the story of Sengoku Abe, the Takoyaki King? He's a pretty big guy 
  around here."
[19:22:48] <Demota> <Miki> Um... not quite. 
[19:23:14] <Demota> <Miki> Tono's not local either, before you start guessing that stuff.
[19:23:22] <Demota> <Miki> ... actually, I might as well just say it.
[19:23:28] <Kentaro> Is it about that time when- Aw.
[19:26:39] <Demota> <Miki> It's the story of Michishita Soushirou and the 99-Night Feast.
[19:27:56] <Kentaro> Oh man! That's my favorite Michishita Soushirou story!
[19:28:08] * Kentaro claps out of pure, boyish glee.
[19:28:27] <Demota> <Miki> ... do you know who he is?
[19:31:31] <Kentaro> Uh...
[19:31:33] <Kentaro> Kinda!
[19:34:46] <Kentaro> Let's see. I know he's named Michishita Soushirou...
[19:34:49] <Kentaro> And past that...
[19:35:08] <Kentaro> Well, I remember something about a ninety-nine night feast!
[19:36:03] <Demota> <Miki> I guess it's kinda obscure... it was that or going with Shakespeare again. 
[19:40:06] <Kentaro> Yeah. And I don't think we want another Laertes Accident.
[19:40:34] <Demota> <Miki> Soushirou was a swordsman in the Edo period. They say there was a celebration and feasting that 
  everyone was enchanted to carry on without end.
[19:40:43] * Kentaro mists up momentarily, and wipes away a tear. Or maybe it's just a show for the first-years
[19:41:12] <Demota> <Miki> Uh... yeah.
[19:42:51] <Demota> <Miki> He became suspicious after a while, and found that an oni was at the heart of it.
[19:43:25] <Kentaro> Ooh, an oni. I knew this was my favorite Soushirou Michishita story for a reason
[19:44:17] <Demota> <Miki> There was a great battle, and the oni was killed, but he died of his wounds soon after. In 
  celebration of his victory, everyone ate a moderate and reasonable meal. Kore de dondo hare.
[19:45:31] <Kentaro> Aw.
[19:45:41] <Kentaro> Hey, I know a girl who can play a great oni!
[19:45:48] <Demota> <Miki> Really?
[19:46:22] <Kentaro> Oh, yeah, I have lunch with her because she's scary enough to keep everyone else away from the table.
[19:46:32] <Kentaro> Oh, I think you met her! Megumi... something.
[19:46:48] <Demota> <Miki> She an actor?
[19:48:32] <Kentaro> She acts like things.
[19:48:47] <Demota> <Miki> What does she act like/
[19:49:35] <Kentaro> Well, she acts like someone who wants to fight stuff because she's someone who wants to fight stuff. 
  And she acts like she hates her family because they don't fight stuff.
[19:49:39] <Kentaro> She's got a pretty good range.
[19:51:20] <Demota> <Miki> Are you sure about this?
[19:52:20] <Kentaro> Absolutely! She's the best oni I know.
[19:52:59] <Demota> <Miki> Alright. I guess a girl oni might make people interested in the play.
[19:53:57] <Demota> <Miki> You wanna go ask her?
[19:54:12] <Kentaro> Yeah, sure!
[19:54:31] * Kentaro gets his bag and heads out to find Megumi
[20:14:37] <Demota> * In the meantime, Miki works on getting the others prepared and organized
[20:21:04] * Kentaro returns to the club room, dropping his bag on a chair. "We've got her!"
[20:21:16] <Demota> <Miki> Wow. That's great. How'd you get her to agree?
[20:23:38] <Kentaro> Oh, I told her we'd cast the guy she had a fight with on saturday if she didn't.
[20:23:49] <Kentaro> [Just as planned].
[20:24:10] <Kentaro> [Plan] means keikaku! Kikuko taught me that one. :|
[20:26:25] <Demota> <Miki> Wow. She's pretty good at English.
[20:27:21] <Kentaro> Yeah, she pays attention in class or something.
[20:27:29] * Kentaro rolls his eyes exaggeratedly
[20:27:29] <Demota> <Miki> So ... what is this about a fight? She's awfully small.
[20:27:58] <Kentaro> Oh, yeah, but she took out... You know that Choutarou guy in second year?
[20:28:28] <Kentaro> Like, the guy that's so big that you just think he's a school building with tiger-stripes painted on?
[20:28:34] <Demota> <Miki> Yeah.
[20:28:42] <Kentaro> She took him down on Saturday. It was pretty exciting, actually.
[20:28:59] <Demota> <Miki> That's a little hard to believe.
[20:29:36] <Kentaro> I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it! But man, it was all over once she got him in a headlock. I 
  have no idea how she did it.
[20:31:40] <Demota> <Miki> Wow
[20:33:42] <Demota> <Miki> Oh, I gave a couple leaves to Daisuke earlier. He looked curious
[20:34:14] <Kentaro> Hm. Like, for eating?
[20:34:21] <Demota> <Miki> I dunno about that.
[20:36:32] <Kentaro> Oh. Hum.
[20:36:47] <Demota> <Miki> Any... idea what was up with those leaves/
[20:39:57] * Kentaro shakes his head. "Not much of one. I guess, like, they're delicious? But I don't really know why.
[20:40:13] <Demota> <Miki> I guess.
[20:40:19] <Kentaro> I might ask Shizuru later if she has any idea. She usually has more ideas than me."
[20:40:25] <Demota> <Miki> Good idea.
[20:42:33] * Kentaro looks around the club room. "Actually, if you've got the kids under control, I might ask her now. I'm 
  kinda curious
[20:42:45] <Demota> <Miki> I think I've got it under control, yeah.
[20:43:04] * Kentaro takes out his cell phone and bangs out an email to Shizuru about the events at the strange tree and 
  the leaves and so forth, asking for her take on things.
[20:56:46] <Demota> * Kentaro gets a reply. "Sounds bad. Let's talk about this in person. Where should we meet, and when?"
[21:00:05] * Kentaro responds with "Whereever's good for you, as soon as possible. I'm at the club right now, but I can 
  skip out." He sends the response
[21:02:23] <Demota> <Shizuru> Let's have lunch on the roof tomrorow. Natsuki will be there.
[21:03:02] * Kentaro punches in "Sounds good." and sends it off, before returning his attention to the club.
[21:04:47] * Kentaro pulls a set of chairs together and lies across them, frowning up at the cieling as he waits for 
  Megumi to arrive, and watches Miki manage the club.
[21:12:26] <Demota> * Another text message arrives. <Daisuke> Hey, Kentaro. I submitted the skeleton to a specialist. 
  People wanted photos, though, so here they are. [Attachment]
[21:13:05] * Kentaro opens the attachment, taking a good look at the photo.
[21:15:17] * Kentaro blinks, and forwards it to Shizuru and Natsumi's phones, with the subject "Is This Yours?"
[21:15:38] <Demota> * The photos are very carefully taken under specific lighting conditions, with a few objects included 
  for scale and length markers. Daisuke's got a pretty good future ahead of him if he's working this hard.
[21:16:58] <Demota> <Shizuru> It is... where did you get that?
[21:17:02] <Demota> <Natsuki> Poor thing.
[21:18:24] * Kentaro sends a message back. "This first-year kid, Daisuke, he found it buried by the river. He was talking 
  about sending it off to experts, but I dunno if it can be traced back to us? I mean, this's gotta have happened before. 
  The jig isn't up, right?"
[21:21:43] <Demota> <Shizuru> Of course not. It can probably be explained as a mutation.
[21:23:04] <Demota> <Natsuki> What was it doing buried by the river?
[21:23:08] <Demota> <Shizuru> Being dead.
[21:23:17] <Demota> <Natsuki> ._.
[21:25:32] * Kentaro responds "Well, as long as it's not gonna be a problem, I just figured I should let you know. Man, I 
  don't know how things have been for you girls but it seems like ever since the start of the year, weird shit's been 
  popping up all over. I just hope I can get through this year without having someone I don't wanna know find out, you 
  know?
[21:28:27] <Demota> <Shizuru> Inertia's a powerful force to overcome. 
[21:31:07] * Kentaro texts back: "I guess. But something's got to break sometime. Maybe it's just easier to take if you're 
  born human."
[21:33:09] <Demota> <Shizuru> Maybe. Maybe if it's gradual enough, it won't break so badly. But that's a long time from 
  now. We just need to make sure it's slow enough.
[21:34:02] * Megumi swallows, knocking on the clubroom door.
[21:34:16] * Kentaro nods, and texts back "Later, something's finally happening"
[21:34:33] * Kentaro closes his phone and heads over to open the door. "Hey, Megumi!"
[21:34:53] <Megumi> Hey.
[21:35:05] * Megumi shuffles her feet. "So...what the hell am I getting myself into here?"
[21:36:22] * Kentaro steps back and makes a gesture with his left arm, showing off the room. "You're getting yourself into 
  one of the lead roles in the club play!"
[21:36:41] <Megumi> ...I...whaaaaat?
[21:37:42] <Kentaro> The oni is the villian of the story! She casts a spell over the townspeople and makes them feast and 
  fight for ninety-nine days until the hero comes and saves everyone in a climatic battle!
[21:37:53] <Kentaro> I think. Miki kind of just told me about the story an hour or so ago
[21:38:41] <Megumi> ...how is that a villainous thing to do? I mean unless they get too fat or something.
[21:40:06] <Kentaro> I guess if you spent all day feasting and all night fighting then you might end up throwing up when a 
  guy punches you? I dunno
[21:43:36] <Megumi> Hmm.
[21:43:46] <Megumi> Sounds like a strange play.
[21:44:17] <Kentaro> Yeah. I'm not too sure myself.

[21:44:25] <Kentaro> Miki, what's gonna go on, anyways?
[21:44:39] * Berny follows Megumi to the drama room.
[21:44:47] <Demota> <Miki> Well, Megumi... do you have any acting experience?
[21:46:06] * Berny waves to Kentaro and Miki and sits down nearby.
[21:46:24] * Megumi scratches her head. "Um. No, not really."
[21:47:24] <Berny> Well, except for the punching the tree play we did...right?
[21:47:42] * Kentaro nods vigorously
[21:47:51] <Megumi> ...um. Right, yeah, that.
[21:49:09] * Berny smiles.
[21:51:47] <Demota> <Miki> Well, maybe you and the other first years can get acquainted or something
[21:53:02] <Megumi> Uh, yeah. I guess so.
[21:54:36] <Demota> [The afternoon went on. Sunlight became dim and was replaced. Girls are enjoying themselves.]
